Frequently asked questions
Everything about how AI transcribes reels and TikToks, remixes them into scripts and how you film your own.
About the app
What is Transcript From Reel?
Transcript From Reel is an AI iOS app that turns short-form videos into text and into videos you can post. Bring in any Instagram reel or TikTok, AI transcribes it in seconds, AI remixes that transcript into a fresh script in the same style about your own topic, then you film it with a built-in teleprompter. Every video you bring in is saved in your library with its transcript, thumbnail and caption.
Does Transcript From Reel use AI?
Yes. AI does the two hardest steps for you. It transcribes the audio of any reel or TikTok into accurate text, and it rewrites that transcript into a fresh script that keeps the original's hook and pacing but is about your own topic. You bring the video in and film the result; AI handles the transcript and the script.
How do I transcribe an Instagram reel?
There are three ways. Share a reel straight from Instagram into the app, paste the reel link inside the app, or comment @transcriptfromreel on the reel and open the app to find the transcript waiting. Whichever way you bring it in, AI transcribes it in seconds.
How do I transcribe a TikTok video?
Share the TikTok into the app from TikTok, or copy the video link and paste it inside the app. AI transcribes it in seconds and the reel is saved to your library. Commenting to request a transcript is Instagram only, but link paste and share work for both TikTok and Instagram.
What devices does Transcript From Reel run on?
Transcript From Reel runs on iPhone and iPad. Sign in with Apple or Google and your transcripts and scripts sync across your devices, so a video you bring in on your phone is there on your iPad too.
Transcripts
How accurate are the AI transcripts?
The transcripts are produced by an AI speech-to-text model built for exactly this kind of audio. It handles fast talking, accents and music playing over a voice, which is common in reels and TikToks. You get clean, readable text you can copy or share.
Can I transcribe a reel without downloading the video?
Yes. You never download the video or upload a file anywhere. You bring the video in by sharing it, pasting its link or tagging it in a comment, and AI transcribes it for you. There is no download, upload or link-copying between separate tools.
Can I copy or share the transcript?
Yes. One tap copies the full transcript so you can paste it into a caption, a note or a document. You can also share it straight out of the app.
Does it keep a record of the reels I transcribe?
Yes. Transcript From Reel is a library, not a one-shot tool. Every reel and TikTok you bring in is saved with its full transcript, thumbnail, caption and the creator's handle, so you can scroll back through everything you have transcribed. It keeps this record, not the original video file.
AI scripts and filming
How does the AI script generator work?
Hand the AI any transcript and it writes a brand new script that keeps the same hook, pacing and energy as the original, about any topic you choose. It is a way to make your own version of a video whose structure already works, in your own words, without staring at a blank page.
What is the built-in teleprompter?
The teleprompter scrolls your AI script over the camera while you record, so you can read your lines and film at the same time without a second device. When you are done you can trim the clip and share it, all without leaving the app.
Can I make my own version of a video that went viral?
Yes, that is the core loop. Bring in a video you like, let AI transcribe it, let AI remix the transcript into a fresh script in the same style about your topic, then film it with the teleprompter. You take a video you watched all the way to a video you can post, in one app.
Instagram mentions
How does commenting @transcriptfromreel work?
Comment @transcriptfromreel on any Instagram reel and the transcript is prepared for you. Open the app to read it. This tag-to-transcribe path is Instagram only, since there is no equivalent on TikTok.
